Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland (BGCSM), a youth development organization, opened in 1999 as Calvert County Boys & Girls Club.  The organization serves over 1,500 youth in seven Clubs throughout Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s Counties providing after school programs from 3-7:00 p.m. and summer camps in all three Counties from 7:30-5:30 p.m. to youth ages 6-18.

After school and summer camp programs focus on five core areas, Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, the Arts and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. Several specific programs youth have the opportunity to participate in are, Keystone Club, Kids in the Kitchen, Lego Robotics and Career Launch.  These and other activities are created to help youth develop self-esteem and reach their full potential.
