1999 First club opened at Appeal Elementary
1999 Club opened at Bayside in North Beach
2000 Club opened at Southern Middle
2000 4 "Dream Team Action Clubs" opened in St. Mary's County
2000 Official name changed to Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland
2001 Project H.O.P.E. is instituted at Appeal & Southern clubs
2002 Programs offered at Mill Creek Middle
2003 Programs offered at Carver Recreational Center
2005 Ground Breaking for new Bayside Unit Facility in North Beach

1860 The Dashway Club established in Hartford, CT
1906 Birth of Federated Boys' Clubs in Boston, with 53 Clubs as members
1931 Boys' Club Federation of America renamed Boys' Clubs of America
1947 First National Youth of the Year installed
1953 The Boys' Clubs Professional Association established
1956 Boys' Clubs of America celebrated its 50th anniversary and received a U.S. congressional Charter
1960 Herbert Hoover National Headquarters in New York dedicated
1963 National Association of Keystone Clubs formed
1972 Goal of 1,000 Boys' Clubs serving 1 million boys reached
1980 New national identity program unveiled, clasping hands service mark adopted and apostrophe dropped from boys'
1987 OUTREACH '91 campaign to serve 2 million youth began and Commitment to Quality program institute
1990 Name officially changed to Boys & Girls Clubs of America
1993 2 million youth served in 1,566 Boys & Girls Clubs
1994 National Headquarters relocated to Atlanta, Georgia
1997 2.8 million youth served in 2,013 Boys & Girls Clubs
2004 4.4 million youth served annually in 3,700+ Boys & Girls Clubs
